EXCLUSIVE: Jajah reaches the 2,000,000 user mark

Frederik from Jajah dropped me a line this morning:

“Today we hit the 2,000,000 users within our first year of operation and we are very happy and excited”

Congrats to Jajah, they’re an awesome service. Not sure what they are? Have a glance at this:

How it works

Log on to JAJAH.com and sign up. To make a call, visit the website and enter the number of the person you want to call. Your phone will ring and a voice prompt will tell you that JAJAH is connecting the call. No equipment, headset or contract is required and registration is free. To make a call on your smartphone (Blackberry, Treo, etc.), visit mobile.jajah.com and enter the party’s number or click on a contact in your address book to place a local, long distance or international call.

Congrats guys!

AOL’s YawnView

Great post and find by Valleywag on a new AOL search called “FullView”.   Check the Powerpoint slides (that AOL forgot to remove from their site) to see what goes into selecting a brand name and service.

Good god, no wonder they suck ass.

Twitter Shits the Bed, Geeks get Nervous

Twitter seems to have been down for a bit. It’s getting pounded by users, and Steve Rubel of Micropersuasion pointed out that it was basically unusable today because of the slowness. It’s an interesting thing, this Twitter. It’s best described as “microblogging”. Others refer to it as the “uber status message” ala AIM. I think it’s a great communication tool, and it was very helpful at SXSW.

I’m sure they’ll be adding servers soon, as twitter has already become a big part of daily routines in the geek world. That’s not always an easy thing to accomplish, but hey, these are the lads who created Blogger.

OhMiBod – The iPod Powered Vibrator

Rand called for it, Paul dreamed about it, Brandon can’t wait to use it.   And now it’s here.

The “OhMiBod” (with the tagline, “Feel the Music”) is the first iPod powered Vibrator.   And NO I will not do a product review on this one, but we’re open to hearing anyones um……experiences with the device.

It even comes with a lovely case!!!!!

Here’s what the website says:

OhMiBod is a sleek, sophisticated new generation of vibrator that
combines elegance of design with the excitement of your favorite music.
The audio enabled integrated microchip allows the OhMiBod to vibrate to
the beat and rhythm of your music while you listen. Measures 5 1/2″
long (insertable) and 1 1/8″ in diameter. OhMiBod comes with an
additional multi-speed endcap for use without an iPod or music
ohmibod player.
It really is 2 products in one! Our motor provides strong yet quiet,
intense rhythmic
vibrations. With polished chrome detail and pearl
white body this product is the ultimate iPod acsexsory!

Why is the music component so important? Listening to your favorite
sexy music and actually feeling the corresponding vibes quickly
transports you to a place where music, mind and body truly “come”
together. The range and intensity of the vibrations are endless,
creating a dynamically sensational experience never felt before!

Well hot damn!!!

Valleywag Vlog Hot voting.

Vlog HotThe folks over at Valleywag have opened the polls for their Vlog Hot competition, a.k.a geek eye candy, for all to vote on.

I didn’t know about nominations otherwise I’m sure our very own Dr. Drew and The Very Reverend Sir Adam Plante would most certainly be on the list (modesty prevents me from suggesting that I would be on the list as well). However, the good news is that our very own Shauna made the list and she’s up against Congers (Amanda Congdon) who is without doubt, shamelessly voting for herself.

Shauna Head over and notch one up for the good guys (that’s Shauna, do I have to explain myself every time…oh it’s probably the accent).
…..flemo

UPDATE!!! OK, so I should’ve known the good Doc (Drew that is) got his mug up there in the voting circles. Not the most flattering photo but sure to appeal to the goth set. Is that permanent Drewby? Might as well notch one up for him as well.

Hello! Apple shows off iPhone during the Oscars

Teaser commercial for sure, but promises the iPhone in June, even though there were rumors of an earlier release.

Gizmodo pointed out that the time and the logo on the phone changes (from Cingular to AT&T, who just merged)
