They have proof. What next? Can Apple do anything about it? This shouldn’t even kill your warranty, since it’s not even a hardware mod.

Wowie Wow. T-mobile unlimited data and an iPhone? Can it be true??????

You can’t get the software yet, says Ryan Block, but there’s already one on eBay for $3,000 (for now!)

With the big TV analog switch-off scheduled soon, the FCC has revised the rules for using the 700Mhz spectrum. Google wants to keep these airwaves open and the FCC has agreed stating that there can be no restrictions on the devices and services allowed on the network. Good stuff. Google has pledged $4.6 billion for the lot which, if they stick with their current business methodology, could mean free wireless (and good wireless) for all (maybe with a few ads thrown in.)

Elton John is also having a say (surprise, surprise) possibly as a result of seeing declining album sales for his Captain and the Kid. He is calling for the ban of the Internet to see what sort of art is produced over that span.

Why are all of the cool tech conferences on the west coast?

Free Widgets from a Gnome @ Gnomedex, originally uploaded by mil8.

What are we, chop liver? Hey East coasters, talk to us. What would YOU want out of a cool tech conference?

Maybe if you speak up loud enough someone will listen and make it happen. Ya never know.

Chris Pirillo and his wife Ponzi work their ASSES off for Gnomedex, and I tip my hat to them. I got to hang out with Chris for a bit while out in Seattle and he’s one of the most enthusiastic technologists I’ve ever met. And I’ve met a lot.

What does a Gnomedex type passionate techy conference look like on the East coast?

What say ye?

Is the iPhone REALLY all that and a bag of chips?

DSC_0288.JPG, originally uploaded by Cali Lewis.

I know, I know. You’re saying “Drew, you hated on Apple for how long? Just give in”

I’m not ready to give in on the iPhone yet. I had a play with one and I’ve talked to people who have them and I’m not sold.

I keep hearing things like “It will get better!” and “It’s so nextgen its worth it!” That doesn’t scream BUY to me.

I can’t get past things like the fact that if you stop service you lose your iPod functionality. That’s fucking lame man. It’s tricky dick too. I understand the battery thing, iPods are like that. No shocker.

Speaking of shocker. 600 bucks? Come on. If I wanna get fucked and pay 600 bucks I’ll do something illegal and go to jail and then pay my fines. I’m not sold yet.

What sold you on the iPhone? Great features or the fact that you’re stuck with it for 2 years?

Talk to us in the comments.
